WARC - offline today (26th May)

The WARC Development team are making some necessary updates to WARC on 26th May. This means that WARC will be offline between 12:00-16:00 BST on 26th May.

Refworks downtime: Sunday 10th May

Downtime will start on Sunday 10th May at 3 AM BST (02:00 GMT), and will last for up to 12 hours. RefWorks Citation Manager and Write-n-Cite will be unavailable at this time as well.

ReadingList maintenance

There is some maintenance tomorrow - Friday at 8amGMT on the Readinglist system. This will log anybody out who is on the Readinglist system at that time, but there are no other expected issues.

To assist with teaching and learning in these unprecedented times, BoB is now accessible to our students who may have returned to the EU (until the end of July).

ProQuest lifting restrictions on ebooks as a response to pandemic

Starting next week, ProQuest Ebook Central customers impacted by COVID-19 will get unlimited access to all owned titles from these publishers through mid-June. This means that all licenses – including single-user and three-user models – will automatically convert to unlimited access during that period, helping librarians bridge the gap for their patrons in this rapidly changing environment. The unlimited access also applies to additional titles purchased through mid-June.

University of Chicago Press Journals Unavailable from 9pm tonight

The University of Chicago Press Journals Division website will undergo maintenance on Friday, March 13, 2020, between 21:00 - midnight GMT. The website, journal content, and all administrative functionality will be unavailable for up to two hours during this time.

All EBSCO Databases e.g. CINAHL,ERIC,SPORTdiscus,PSYCinfo, etc

There is currently a problem with authenticating onto EBSCO databases. We are in contact with our supplier, who have confirmed "that there is an ongoing issue and currently, there is a high priority service issue ticket created for this problem" . Apologies for the inconvenience this may cause.
NB If you are able to access the platform via a Journal, you will be able to navigate to a database search.

Refworks : 9th February 2020

RefWorks (and legacy RefWorks), RefWorks Citation Manager and Write-n-Cite will all experience downtime on February 9th 2020. The downtime is expected to last for up to 12 hours, starting at 03:00 GMT on Sunday 9th February.

All EBSCO Databases e.g. CINAHL,ERIC,SPORTdiscus,PSYCinfo, etc

There is currently an issue with all our EBSCO databases, each one links to Business Source Premier. We are working on fixing this. Apologies for any inconvenience in the meantime.
This issue has now resolved. All Ebsco databases should now be available. (29/01/2020).

We are aware of issues accessing Mintel that some users are having, and are investigating the problem. We apologise for any inconvenience and hope to have this resolved soon. This issue has now been resolved and authentication should be working correctly. Remember to use Institutional / Federated access if given a choice. (30/01/2020)

BMJ websites : scheduled maintenance on Saturday 11th January

On Saturday 11th January 2020 between 0900 to 1700 GMT, a number of BMJ websites will be undergoing maintenance. This will mean that the following websites will be unavailable for approximately 8 hours:
• BMJ Best Practice (offline access will be available via the app for existing users)
• BMJ Learning

BMJ runs a policy of continuous improvement and will be using this time to complete a project to migrate to a more modern, scalable platform.

Exporting Citations from Ebsco and Ovid to Refworks - NOW RESOLVED (as at 10/01/20)

Currently there are issues with direct export from both EBSCO and Ovid to Refworks. Our system suppliers are aware of the issue and working together to resolve it. In the meantime references can be exported as an RIS file and imported into Refworks.
