Logging into the Library

You should use your ARU Full Username (e.g. abc1@student.aru.ac.uk, abc1@pgr.aru.ac.uk, abc1@aru.ac.uk) and password to login to your library account, to access e-resources etc.

If you need help with your University Login, please contact IT Services.

Other (not University staff or student) members

If you are a SCONUL Access, Alumni, Student Union Officer, Associate Tutor/Mentor, or Associate Phd student member of the University Library, you should login to your library account to use the Library Search, request items, renew loans and check your due dates etc.

Your Self-Service PIN

To use the Library's self-service machines you'll need your student or staff ID card as well as your PIN.

Students: Your self-service PIN is derived from the day and month of your date of birth. So, if your date of birth (DOB) is 17 August it will be 1708.

Staff (& other categories of membership): We will confirm your PIN when you register with us.

Forgotten your password?

If you can no longer remember your password then you will need to reset it using the ARU password manager.

Accessing Library Resources Off-Campus?

Please be aware that due to some constraints set by some journal and e-book publishers, access to some library e-resources can be a little more awkward from off campus.

'Authentication notes' are often provided in the 'View It' section to help and guide you.

Further Help
Please see our Search Guide: Off-campus access to help you gain access off-campus.
