Using Other Libraries
Sconul AccessThe SCONUL Access scheme enables staff, research students, full time postgraduates, part-time, distance learning and placement students to visit other libraries which belong to the scheme: to use study spaces; or use physical books and journals; and sometimes to borrow stock of the library. (Note that it does not give access to online resources.)
It is available for students studying at a site participating in the scheme and not at Academic Partners. Full-time undergraduates have reference only access. Apply Online via the SCONUL website. Please check details as borrowing and access may be different at different libraries.
Summer Vacation Access Scheme
You may use a University library near home during its vacation weeks, free of charge, if it is part of the scheme. This allows you to use the library for reference only (which means you will not be able to borrow, nor use electronic sources of information). You will need your ARU ID card, and may need further documentation, so check with the institution before you go. You should also check their vacation dates, and opening hours, as they may not be the same as ours.
Access25
Postgraduate research students and staff in the member libraries of the M25 Consortium of Academic Libraries may join the scheme, however, you are recommended to use the SCONUL Access scheme as the first option.
