What are Interlibrary Loans?

If you need a book chapter, journal article or physical item that we do not stock, our Interlibrary Loans Service can usually obtain it for you from another library.

Interlibrary Loan requests can be placed for items that are:
  • needed for research or study (undergraduate course work would not usually require this service)
  • not available in full text or physically at our ARU Library
  • not available freely via the internet

If the item you require is held at another ARU Library site, please use our Request service.

We are dependent on other libraries being able to supply, so can't guarantee supply of every request or a specific supply time.

Please check the British Library EThOS service before placing an Interlibrary Loan request for a postgraduate dissertation. Please register with the EThos service to download the full text of a thesis.

For further information or advice please contact us.

Students and staff at our Partner Institutions please contact your own library for interlibrary loans. We only provide an interlibrary loans service for ARU students and staff.
