New Picturebook Special Collection at Cambridge Library

Over the summer we created a new special collection for the picturebooks and a dedicated area for them at the end of the 700s on the third floor.

We wanted this popular section to be more accessible and easier to use. We also wanted to be able to display some of the books with their covers facing out, so that we could make the most of these unique resources. We've taken the books out of the Dewey sequence, so no more enormous string of numbers. They're now ordered simply by illustrator surname. They also have much more space so multiple users can browse at the same time.

To launch the new section, we have displayed a selection of books chosen by lecturers from the Bologna Children's Book Festival. You can learn more about the selection here in this Yuja video.
