Libraries open for Contactless Service on 1 September

25 August 2020

Click and Collect operational now for collection from 1 September

Our three site libraries will be opening for limited hours from the 1st Sept -18 September to provide access to physical books via a “Click and Collect Service” to our students and staff only.  You will also be able to return items via either a book-drop or self-return machine. If you are collecting items, please do not come on site until you receive confirmation the item is ready to collect. To access the libraries and borrow items you must have your ARU ID card.

Access to the library shelves and study spaces will be unavailable during this time as we work to provide safely distanced study spaces and designated travel routes round the libraries.

Click and Collect – will allow you to request physical items via our Library Search:

Available items at the site you are visiting can be requested so the example above means that you could request it to collect at Chelmsford or Peterborough. There will be NO movement of items from one site to another during this period.

Once the request has been placed, staff will retrieve the item for the shelf and you will be emailed when it is available to collect.

You will be able to return items via either a book-drop or self-return machine.

Cambridge – open 9.00-17.00 Monday to Friday

Access via ARU ID card into library ground floor.  Requested items will be collected from the shelves on the left side of the library near the lift door.  Items should then be issued using self-service issue before leaving the library. Returned items can be returned via self-service return and dropped into the nearby book-drop.

Chelmsford - open 9.00-17.00 Monday to Friday

Access via ARU ID card into buildings and Library.  Requested items will be collected from the shelves on the right side of the library near the entrance (or by the main reception desk in MAB).  Items should then be issued using self-service issue before leaving the library. Returned items can be returned via self-service return and dropped into the nearby book-drop.

Peterborough – open 10.00-15.00 Monday to Friday
