Queen's Building ground floor building work: Update 21st Oct 2020

21 October 2020

The refurbishment of the Queen's building is underway. This may cause some disruption over coming weeks which we will do our best to minimise.
We are working hard to open the new student centre by the end of January 2021.

Our aim is to improve student experience by bringing together student help, advice, and guidance into one place. The new ground floor of the Queen's Building will provide a hub for all student enquiries so you will need to only visit one place for library help, employability advice, residential services enquiries and student support including financial and academic support, health and wellbeing advice.

As well as providing a help point for these services, you will also find a variety of spaces to suit your needs including group study areas, private booths for wellbeing advice, PCs and other informal learning spaces.

What will it be like?

The images below give you an idea of how this space will be transformed.

It is really encouraging to see work progress following unavoidable delays during the summer months. Thank you for your patience while we complete this important initiative.

While the building work is happening there may be times when the library does not suit your study requirements and you may want to find somewhere quieter to work instead.

More information about where else you can study on campus is available from our Library News post Queen's building work news
